NDC faction president Saboi Imboela has excoriated Judith Kabemba of the Democratic Party (DP) for “her destructive path” which made it impossible for the party to file in the nominations in the Kabwata parliamentary by-elections.
Imboela and Kabemba were engaged in a heated argument in the DYNAMIC ANALYSIS ZAMBIA Whatsapp group, with Imboela being the first one to unleash on Kabemba.
“I already told u that your dullness is not something I will even engage in. So now your ka lying character has been manifested. Anybody u disagree with u create stories about them??? Anyone who listens to u does so at their own peril, so sad to have such women like u that can go on such a destructive path,” Imboela in one of the postings seen by Daily Revelation stated. “U need to go to school and just upgrade your political knowledge, listening to u and your reasoning is just so heartbreaking. People don’t need to be hired or coaxed to talk about a serious thing like stopping a party from participating in an election…. U need some tough love. I think all of us are to blame for watching u make a nuisance of yourself.”
Saboi continued.
“U talk of bitterness, alliances, etc, but who is bitter, who is being used and who is in a funny alliance? Ati I’m not NDC? So now even political affiliation is other people to decide for others? Grow up sis, u are making a nuisance out of yourself. U have kids and u are embarrassing them. Is this the legacy u want to leave for them of what their mother was,” Saboi shouted. “That she couldn’t stand for the truth but was used by the ruling party want to destroy her own party? U are a great disappointment and a shame to women. Anyway, I have said enough, let it not be said in future that no one tried to talk to u to do the right thing…”
Saboi stated that Kabemba’s level of “dullness” was not at her level, saying naturally between Kalaba and Kabemba, the people should would have naturally supported was the latter, saying that was the more reason why she had tried to keep quiet on the matter until now.
“But a wrong is a wrong. Stopping a party from filing is not a DP issue but a national issue. Where did you learn your politics or governance to expose such dullness surely, and a woman for that matter tarnishing all our names. Very very disappointing,” Imboela stated.
But one of the bloggers posted that just like DP, even those in NDC needed to put their house in order, Imboela responded that that was why she was saying that they tolerated some of “this rubbish” for a long time.
“It is that same strength of the NDC that they went after…DP should not make the same mistake we made, they should nip this cancer in the bud…we thought they wanted the confusion just to win elections, but the UPND agenda is to sustain the confusion to weaken the opposition,” Imboela stated. “They started with NDC, now on to DP, next will be Socialist and all the strong parties. So we should not stand by anymore and just watch, enough is enough…besides we just chose not to participate in the Kabwata elections for many reasons, not participating in a by-election is not a measure for anything. The circus we have in Zambia of everyone wanting to be on the ballot is all wrong political socialisation at work.”
But for her part, Kabemba argued in her postings that Imboela did not expect her to just sit by and watch some one “steal a party which is not his”, wondering why people feared going to the Registrar of Societies to register their own parties than fighting for other people’s parties.
She said it was easy to make life comfortable for everyone by undergoing the necessary procedures and “have your own party”.
She said she did not want hired guns to be talk8ng about DP, saying i5 was unfortunate that Imboela wanted to use DP to settle NDC issues.
“Like I told you it’s easy to advice HK to form his own political party or if he still wants to be Dap he should respect our constitution. It’s that simple,” Kabemba retorted. “He does things that disadvantages the party from filing and you come here defending him. Do you know what DP has gone through in his hands?”
Kabemba accused Kalaba and Imboela of being PF inclined.
“So we understand the source of your bitterness. The rerun alliance plans failed. Anyway, I have been advised by the legal NDC to stop saying you are NDC because you are not,” stated Kabemba. “So madam don’t bring your frustrations on DP twakana. Concentrate on fighting for NDC you seem to have issues that needs attention.”
