Zambia is experiencing a strong tourism surge, with growth driven by adventure tourism and cultural initiatives like the Africa Bike Culture Festival, says the Travel and Tour World.
According to the article published on December 07, 2025, Zambia has been mentioned among the eight African countries which are experiencing a tourism.
The article titled Morocco as having joined Uganda, Egypt, Nigeria, South Africa, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Zambia, and others to Propel “Africa’s Dominance in World Tourism Growth with a Surge in Tourist Arrivals and Revenue This Year”.
“Known for its proximity to the iconic Victoria Falls, Zambia attracts tourists seeking both adrenaline-filled activities and serene natural landscapes. The country is diversifying its appeal by promoting activities such as wildlife safaris, hiking, and cultural festivals. With new developments and events, Zambia is positioning itself as a top destination for travelers seeking adventure, making it poised for a record-breaking year in 2025,” the article read in part. “Morocco joins Uganda, Egypt, Nigeria, South Africa, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Zambia, and others in propelling Africa’s dominance in world tourism growth with a surge in tourist arrivals and revenue this year. This rise reflects the continent’s rich cultural heritage, natural wonders, and emerging destinations.”
In the article, Egypt saw a remarkable 21.0% growth in international arrivals in 2025, driven by the full recovery of Nile River cruises and the lasting appeal of its Red Sea resorts, including Sharm El Sheikh and Hurghada. It said these coastal destinations are renowned for their world-class diving opportunities and sun-soaked beaches
Ethiopia experienced an 18.0% increase in international arrivals, benefiting from its unique cultural and historical assets, including the Lalibela rock-hewn churches, a UNESCO World Heritage site, remain one of the country’s most significant draws.
“Additionally, Ethiopia’s status as a major hub through Ethiopian Airlines enhances its accessibility to global travelers,” Travel and Tour World stated. “South Africa’s tourism sector grew by 17.0% in 2025, fueled by a combination of nature-based tourism and urban exploration. The country’s safaris, especially in the famous Kruger National Park, remain a key attraction, drawing nature lovers and wildlife enthusiasts. Additionally, Cape Town, known for its iconic Table Mountain and vibrant culture, continues to attract urban explorers.”
Morocco saw a 14.0% increase in international arrivals, driven by its cultural richness and strategic infrastructure development, and that cities like Marrakech and Fez continue to capture the imagination of travelers, with their historic medinas, vibrant markets, and rich traditions.
“With the 2030 FIFA World Cup on the horizon, the country is also aggressively expanding its tourism offerings, making it a key player in Africa’s tourism landscape,” Travel and Tour World stated. “Tanzania experienced a 10.9% growth in international arrivals in 2025, reinforcing its position as a luxury travel destination. The Serengeti National Park remains one of the world’s top safari destinations, attracting travelers seeking the “Big Five” and the Great Migration.”
Others which were mentioned were Tunisia at 18 percent growth owing mainly to its Mediterranean beaches, combined with its ancient history, Nigeria with an increase of 12% to 15% in arrivals, driven by the Nigerian Diaspora and a rise in business tourism.
“Lagos and Abuja have become prominent hubs for international conferences, boosting the country’s appeal to business travelers,” stated Travel and Tour World. “Uganda saw a 13.3% increase in tourism receipts in 2025, driven by its high-value tourism offerings, particularly Gorilla Trekking. Known as the “Pearl of Africa,” Uganda’s natural beauty, including national parks like Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, draws visitors seeking adventure and wildlife encounters.”
