NAKACHINDA WILL NOT GO TO JAIL FOR SAYING TEKENI AMATAKO PANSHI, SAYS LUSAMBO

Raphael Nakachinda will not go to jail for saying tekeni amatako panshi, says former Lusaka Province minister Bowman Lusambo.

And Lusambo said the reason why he made the statement on K2 million being nothing as others could even use it as shopping money, was simply to encourage Zambians that they could also work hard and earn a lot of money.

Speaking with Daily Revelation on the arrest of Raphael Nakachinda for allegedly defaming the President, Lusambo said the investigative wings are embarrassing President Hakainde Hichilema in a very big way, both locally and internationally, owing to some of the promises he made during his inauguration ceremony that people would not be arrested without being given a charge.

He urged police Inspector General Lemmy Kajoba to stop embarrassing the President, saying what Nakachinda said did not warrant him (Kajoba) unleashing police officers on him, saying the country was being driven on a slippery slope where those in leadership wanted to make it impossible to “talk against HH.”

“Anybody who tempers with democracy is not fit to be the Republican President of Zambia…2026 is coming. By the time they realise it’s time to work they will realise it’s too late,” Lusambo said,

He said the arrest of Nakachinda was just another ploy to silence political opponents.

“The President used the word of panyoko, kapena nipanyoko, pamunyoko. You remember? The President used that word pamunyoko. So there are so many things we can talk about to defend Raphael Nakachinda,” Lusambo said. “But whatever thing which is happening those are just politics…Raphael Nakachinda will come out. Raphael Nakachinda will not go to jail because of that word he used.”

Speaking on his own arrest by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) for being in possession of property suspected to be proceeds of crime, Lusambo described that as a laughable matter, saying the acting director general wanted to make a name in order to be appointed permanently into that position.

But asked if he was being condemned by his own past conduct and therefore giving an opening for the investigative wings to follow him up, including uttering the statement to Daily Revelation that K2 million was nothing that would warrant Colonel Panji Kaunda reporting then president Edgar Lungu’s daughter, Tasila, to the ACC for, Lusambo said: “The reason why I, the reason why, the reason why, the reason why I made that statement is just to encourage Zambians to know that they can also work hard and earn a lot of money.”

“The money we see in people’s possession is not just money which comes without work. It is money which comes in investing in hard work. Today I can continue issuing that statement that K2 million we want you Chilemba to have K2 million. We want young businessmen in our country to have K2 million,” Lusambo said. “When I went to China they were telling me that we are like this because we have invested in our people. We have a lot of businessmen who are billionaires in China.”

Lusambo continued.

“So K2 million it’s not money which we can be talking about today. We want our businessmen and women in our country to have more money in their pockets so that we can run our economy,” said Lusambo.
