HH replaces Kalaluka with Chiwaya as deputy commander at ZAF

President Hakainde Hichilema has with immediate effect revoked the appointment of Major General Arthur Kalaluka as deputy Zambia Air Force commander.

In a statement issued by State House chief communication specialist Clayson Hamasaka yesterday, Maj Kalaluka will be redeployed in the foreign service.

“The President in exercise of the provision of Article 9(l) of the constitution of the Republic of Zambia has relieved Major George Kalaluka of his appointment as Deputy Air Force commander and redeployed him into diplomatic service,” Hamasaka stated.

“The President has extended his gratitude to the outgoing Deputy Air Force commander for his distinguished service in the Zambia Air Force and wished him success in his future endeavors.”

Maj Kalaluka has been replaced by Brigadier General Henry Chiwaya.

The President had also promoted Chiwaya to the rank of Major General.

Hamasaka added that President Hichilema urged Chiwaya to discharge his duties with loyalty and discipline.

“Further, in accordance with Article 9 (l) 92(2) of the constitution of Zambia, the Head of State has appointed Brigadier General Henry Chiwaya as the new Air Force Commander and promoted to the rank of Major General,” stated Hamasaka. “The President has congratulated Major General on his well deserved appointment and promotion, urging him to discharge his duties with loyalty, discipline and unwavering commitment to the constitution and the people of Zambia.”
