EX-Power Dynamos defender Ronald Mukosha says it is sad to see striker Moses Shumah leave the Arthur Davies Stadium side but believes coach Osward Mutapa will find another impact player to replace the Kenyan-born 2025/2026 FAZ Super League Golden Boot winner.
Shumah left Power last week to join South African club Amazulu FC just after his 21 goals not only won him the golden boot but also inspired the Kitwe giants to retain their FAZ Super League title for an unprecedented second successive season.
The striker was an instant success in just his debut season at Power, whom he joined from Kenyan club Kakamega Homeboyz in July, 2025.
Mukosha told Revelation Sports in an interview that Power would miss Shumah but believes the Kitwe giants would still hold their own in their 2026/2027 domestic and continental campaigns.
“I think Oswald is an experienced coach and he knows what he’s doing. By allowing him to go automatically, he has got some replacements already in his mind. So it’s not a big deal,” Mukosha said.
Shumah also scored 2 goals in the CAF Champions League where Power made their debut group stage appearance in continental football and he later netted another 2 in the 2026 ABSA Cup where the team finished runners-up to Red Arrows.
He finished a distant first in the 2025/2026 FAZ Super League golden boot race ahead of Red Arrows and Zambia striker Albert Kangwanda, who scored 14 league goals and 4 in the ABSA Cup.
Kangwanda beat Shumah to the 2025/2026 FAZ Super League footballer of the year award while the latter settled for the Fans’ Player of the Year award.
“Yes, he brought in some dimensions into the team of which he helped the team to win back-to-back championships. And I believe and trust, I think he would have even won the football of the year despite Kangwanda winning it,” Mukosha said.
“I think Shuma brought some positivity into the Power Dynamos team and I think he worked well with Oswald.”
