By Merlyn Mwanza

Ministers and all those in positions of authority won’t have it easy with me, says ruling UPND national youth chairperson Gilbert Liswaniso.

Featuring on a diamond TV interview last night, Listen said ministers and all those in authority will have to answer questions like “what have you done for youths and women?”

“The ministers, everyone who is in position of authority they won’t have it easy from me…what have you done for youths and women?…you can’t leave everything to the President,” he said.

Liswaniso said he was aware that the UPND has not scored 100 percent as a party in terms of performance, saying the first priority for the President is to handle the interests of the 2.8 million who voted for them, who may not all be UPND members, and then look into the intra-party affairs of the young people, arguing that the President has not forgotten anybody.

And Liswaniso condemned the police for having arrested Dr Brian Sampa for protesting against homosexuality in the country, saying that very act gave the impression that the UPND was in support of the vile acts.

He said the UPND does not support homosexuality as it is against the country’s values and culture, stressing that the practice has been there but those in the opposition were trying to push it towards the UPND.

“You are found in the act, kamata,” Liswaniso said during a tv programme monitored by Daily Revelation Media.

On the UPND loss in Luangwa which has brought recrimination within the party, Liswaniso said the party must ask itself why it lost. He said the same people who were complaining in the party did not want to receive other people, saying in order to win, they also needed members of the PF and that it was the responsibility of the party to capture those members from PF.

Liswaniso also said he shall not sleep over the statement from acting PF president Given Lubinda that they were still in control of government apparatus, and also that he wanted the UPND to compete against Bowman Lusambo and Joe Malanji in Kabushi and Kwacha respectively.
