Republican President Hakainde Hichilema has called for an immediate end to corruption and bribery in Zambia.
Speaking after swearing in Judges of the ConCourt, Appeals Court and the High Court at State House, President Hichilema berated the corrupt trend of “at least give me ‘kasamfing’.” A nauseating way of asking to be bribed and corrupted on the job.
The Head of State declared that Judges should lead the way to incorruptibilty in the Judiciary and the nation at large.
He also counselled Judges to join other arms of government in belt-tightening.
The New Dawn Administration cannot afford to buy expensive “VX” vehicles for Judges when cheaper vehicles were equally effective, said Mr. Hichilema.
He also urged the Justice Ministry to draft a law for Parliament that would make it very hard for office holders to steal from government coffers.
