CHIKOTA’S TRIBAL REMARKS WERE MADE IN ANGER – KABIMBA … he has a point to demand that attention is not diverted from sugilite scam

Economic Front (EF) leader Wynter Kabimba says he supports Mwense council chairman Stephen Chikota’s assertions that focus should not be diverted away from the sugilite scam where he has mentioned Luapula Province minister Derrick Chilundika and others of being involved in the saga.

But Chilundika despite earlier giving a reaction to Daily Revelation called a few moments later that he was withdrawing the interview following his consultation with a few people and that whatever he said earlier in reaction to Chikota’s charges must not be quoted.

Chikota’s who was arrested over alleged involvement in the scam has insisted his innocence while pointing the finger at Chilundika, a police commissioner and the other accused from Southern and Western provinces whom he thought were being protected in order to target the “Bembas.”

Chikota also said attention must not be diverted from the sugilite scam to the two-minute video in which he uttered tribal remarks, something Kabimba said he supports despite the distasteful ethnic remarks which he feels were made in anger.

“The point he raises is fundamental, that apart from the tribal remarks, he made, there is the fundamental issue of who is involved in the saga,” Kabimba said.

He demanded that police must take keen interest to extend investigations to Chilundika and the other people who have been mentioned.

Kabimba said President Hichilema should also show interest in the matter by acting accordingly to see if there was any culpability on the part of the other people who have been mentioned beyond Chikota.
