‘CLIQUE OF THIEVES’ REMARK CONTINUES RUFFLING FEATHERS … PF member says party lost power out of idiocy

Patriot Front members should blame themselves for giving President Hakainde Hichilema leeway in the August 12 general election, which has subsequently given the current Head of State the audacity to label them a clique of thieves, charges Prince Chanda.

In an audio that has gone viral, Chanda charged that the PF leadership adopted Parliamentary candidates in the run up to the August general election that were not popular, expressed arrogance on the issue of adoptions, which he said negatively affected the Presidential results; adding that this led to the PF losing power to the UPND and “the most wise and intelligent to be President of Zambia and now he has the audacity to refer to them as a clique of thieves.”

“I Prince Chanda, aka Hardliner, I personally don’t blame the President for issuing that statement because our people voted for him. So yes, we are stupid, we are thieves, we are a clique because if our people didn’t vote for him; he would not be in State House, landing on the airport and saying what he is saying,” said Chanda. “But because our people in Northern Province voted for him, yes we accept we are stupid, we are criminals. In fact, we are fools. I can’t blame him because even Easterners voted for him (at the time) Edgar Lungu was Republican President and they were fired… The Easterners should accept that because they gave him the vote. The Luapula people are being arrested for being criminals, yet they gave him the vote. They must also accept that we are stupid because we voted for him (President Hakainde Hichilema). Those in Central Province on the other hand must accept that they are thieves because they voted for him.”

Chanda said even the Copperbelt, which he said was dominated by the people from a certain region gave President Hichilema the votes, saying he got more votes from the other areas than his traditional strongholds of Southern, Western, and North Western provinces at the time.

“Copperbelt is among the PF strongholds, but they voted for him and so they must accept that they are stupid because they are not among the regions that voted for PF. Now that they have voted for the wisest man in the country, the most intelligent and richest man. They must accept that we are stupid.”

Chanda stressed that the PF leadership adopted wrong people in the run up to the August general election.

“The people of Lusaka have been voting for PF but the criminals adopted foolish people who were not popular and the people decided to go against the PF because of arrogance during adoptions. So yes, must accept what the President is saying because, according to him, we dominated government and we are a clique of thieves. I personally don’t blame, he is his own right,” Chanda said. “At the time Zambia got independence he was two years old and completing university education free of charge. And he calls those that educated him a clique of thieves. When he about 30 years as a young graduate, when a group of what he is calling a group of thieves thought that he should participate in privatisation without looking at his tribe or region where he comes from. And they gave him a huge responsibility on behalf of the Zambian people.”

Chanda said PF gave away power out of idiocy.

“PF lost the election willingly, wilfully. This time around it will take quite a lot for PF to bounce back into power because they gave this power out of stupidity and fear. Isn’t stupidity that we told them that they should not adopt these criminals because they will make you lose power and this will affect the Presidency? So we gave the President the power and audacity to say what is coming out of his mouth now. Leonard Mbao was PF but we left him and because he is a politician and wants to survive, he crossed the floor and joined UPND with the people. And he told them to vote for him and President Hakainde Hichilema. And today Mbao is Nothern Province minister.”

Chanda further reminded President Hakainde Hichilema that political power is never held in perpetuity.

“I remind my brothers in the UPND, including President Hakainde Hichilema that the game is not yet over. God is on the throne. I will repeat this, the game is not yet over; God is on the throne. I expect you to exhibit some civility and humility on your part. I want to remind you guys in the UPND that God is in heaven and you cannot make Him,” Chanda further stated. “President HH is Republican President today. The 2021 elections were defining moments…it was evil and good. God is in heaven and seated on the unshaken throne. Zambia is a convenant nation. Mr President I wish you all the best as you govern this country. But you must know that there are things you cannot change with your audacity. And the sooner you realise the better Mr President because what you have today are transient powers. The authority you have today is limited… it’s in the hands of those that gave you the vote. We demand respect from you see it fit to respect us. You have the power, to start acting like Republican President stop proving a point to the PF, start proving a point to all the people that voted for you. That’s my caution to you Mr President.”
