The week of February 1, 2025 will be the window for candidates to file in their nominations for next March’s elective FAZ Annual General Meeting.

FAZ councilors will go to the polls on March 29 executive committee elections after the respective provincial elections commence from March 12, 2025.

According to FAZ spokesperson Sydney Mungala, nominations will be filed in for the entire first week of February.

“Nominations open on February 1, 2025 and will close on February 7,2025,” Mungala said.

“The electoral committee will then vet with nominations sieved through by 9th February.

“Final validated nominations will be unveiled on February 17.”

Last week on December 21,FAZ General Secretary Reuben Kamanga unveiled the roadmap to the March 29,2025 polls.

“The executive committee has also resolved to ensure that the date for elections in future is embedded in the constitution. However, this will have to be tabled before the FAZ Council,” said Kamanga.

“We encourage the membership to familiarise themselves with the provisions of the FAZ constitution and Electoral Code as they prepare to participate in the forthcoming elections. In the next AGM, we will table an item to embed the Elections date in the constitution.”
