Garry wants thugs who assaulted him in court

By Angela Moonga

Mazabuka-Central parliamentary aspirant Garry Nkombo says he wants police to take UPND thugs who violently assaulted him to court expressly, as there is no need to even adduce evidence of who the assailants were.

Nkombo described the arrests of the thugs by the police as a dress rehearsal as they were only placed in police cells for 10 minutes and then given police bonds.

“I am disappointed that the police in Mazabuka can try to dupe the whole country that they have arrested the perpetrators. It was actually a dress rehearsal. They picked up five of the 20 boys, some are said to be on the run,” Nkombo said.

He wondered where the cameras where to show that they had arrested the thugs, saying even Jesus who paid the ultimate sacrifice for humanity spent days in his tribulations.

“Those boys, Haloba and friends, came for a visit at the police,” Nkombo said, adding that they were thrown in cells for 10 minutes and given police bond.

But he said while it was their right to be given bonds, the matter must now go to court.

“When are we going to court? Because court is an area where we must get to because there is no need to even adduce evidence who the assailants were,” said Nkombo.

He urged the police to avoid the manipulation as one of the thugs reported the person who was protecting him to police.
