GOVT RELEASES $20,000 TO REPATRIATE REMAINS OF ZAMBIAN STUDENT

Government has released $20,000 (about K344,000) to repatriate the remains of a 25-year old Zambian student who died while pursuing civil engineering studies in China.

Father to deceased Sampa Mwenya, Morgan Mwenya confirmed the development to Daily Revelation.

Morgan Mwenya explained that government, through the ministry of foreign affairs and international cooperation, has responded positively to the deceased’s family request to have his son’s body repartriated back to Zambia.

“I can confirm that government has positively responded to our request to have the remains of my late son repartriated back to Zambia,” said Mwenya.

He thanked the Zambian government and the Chinese government for embarking the process of repartriting the remains of Sampa Mwenya back to Zambia.

“I am grateful to both the Zambian government and the Chinese government for embarking on this process of repartriting my son’s body back to Zambia. This will allow us, as a family, to mourn our child with dignity,” said Mwenya.
