Hakainde’s ‘inept’ govt leaving office in 2026, even before that – UKA

United Kwacha Alliance ( UKA) communication chairperson Jackson Silavwe says Zambians have already decided to vote out President Hakainde Hichilema in the 2026 elections.

Silavwe said this following the police cancellation of their planned rally which was to be held in Kafue.

On April 2, 2024, UKA applied to have a public rally at Matanda Zambia Compound in Kafue  on April 13, 2024 between 10: 00 hours and 18: 00 hours.

But in a letter dated April 7, 2024 at 06:00 hrs, the Zambia Police in Kafue denied permission to UKA alliance to hold a public rally.

Reacting to this cancellation, Silavwe said  the Alliance was not surprised at the response of the police.

“We are not surprised at the response of the UPND Zambia Police force. President Hichilema and his clique would go to any length to mutilate the rights of the Zambian people, especially those that do not support their inept and short-lived regime,” he stated. “The writing is already on the wall, President Hichilema and his Government are going in 2026, even before. UKA will not relent in liberating the Zambian people from this repressive UPND regime. They cannot stop the people’s movement, UKA.”

He stated that if President Hichilema thinks he is popular, UKA dares him to call for early elections this year, 2024.

“As a people, we have a collective duty to stand up and be counted in our quest to defend our democracy against this despotic and repressive regime that has weaponised hunger as a tool to beating Zambian citizens into submission,” stated Silavwe.
