The unmistakable proxy war of the West against Russia in Ukraine is sacrificing innocent Ukrainians and Russians. The continued supply of heavy military artillery to Ukrainians has not done much though it has helped to hold back the Russians from running over the Ukrainian Military.
The startling defiance of Russia and Ukraine, to end the war amidst huge human loss and infrastructure destruction especially from the latter is mind baffling.
If the leaders of Ukraine and Russia have a conscious and genuine interest to provide leadership to its people, let go of the pride, stop the war, and get back to the negotiating table.
The unbelievable and continued rhetoric of Ukraine and its Allies of boasting that Ukraine would ultimately win the Ukraine -Russian war is absurd and imprudent as there will be no winner with the growing numbers of deaths and casualties on both sides.
The people promoting the war are couched comfortably in their offices and drinking expensive coffee or tea, their families are safe and others giving biased military analyses on the war against Russia which is encouraging Ukraine, must rethink as poor Ukrainian women and men as well as Russian young soldiers are losing their lives on a large scale every day.
President Zelensky should realise that Russia despite initially performing poorly in the war, remain a powerful military nation and continuing to fight with Russia risks of his soldiers and officers, the people and infrastructure which most has been erased to the ground.
The Ukrainians are being punished with this senseless war they least understand its objective.
Yet the world today is immensely capable of stopping this war by encouraging either side to drop their weapons and head off for negotiations. This war is unnecessary especially with the growing diplomatic tools available which can endure any kind of diplomatic or military rift.
Unfortunately, the West is encouraging the war by continuing supplying heavy military equipment such as the British M270 Multiple launcher rocket system, American Howitzers, Amoured vehicles, FGM -148 JAVELIN, FIM – 92 STINGER.
It’s encouraging though that few of the Western Allies have realised to let the war drag on, which is likely will be unsustainable with colossal human and infrastructural cost. The growing division of the West led by Emmanuel Macron, Olaf Scholz, and Mario Draghi French President, Germany Chancellor and Italian Prime Minister respectively doubling down the Ukraine prospect gives a fresh feeling.
This is a war which should not have been there in the first place and both sides should not claim to fight the war in the name of their people. Whilst Russia has a genuine concern about the existential threat if Ukraine joined NATO and EU and Ukraine has a right to join NATO and European Union too, their differences could have been resolved without picking arms. The war is about Russia and the West self- political aggrandizement.
The poor Ukrainian villagers and their fellow Russians whether their sides ‘win’ the war or not will remain even poorer than they were before the February the 24th.
The world has been relatively at peace in the last 77 years until the current crop of leaders of the most powerful nations emerged.
The world will continue to be unsafe if these leaders remain in power and what is more frightening is that the two powerful nuclear nations are on each other’s throat.
Stop this war, stop the madness!
