President Hakainde Hichilema has directed the UPND’s Chipangali constituency candidate Andrew Lubusha to list the names of all the people who are eligible for the Social Cash Transfer in the constituency in order for them to be included as beneficiaries.
Addressing a campaign rally in Chipangali constituency today, President Hichilema, who recently announced that the Social Cash Transfer benefits to individuals had been increased from K800 to K1000, said all the eligible single ladies and older women would be included as beneficiaries.
“If you know people eligible, single women … old women, Lubusha write names and bring them to Lusaka. We shall put them on social cash transfer,” President Hichilema said.
President Hichilema said the UPND was the only administration to have employed 45,000 teachers in the last four years, including 20,000 health workers.
He said he would construct public universities in the country’s six provinces, starting with Eastern and then moving on to Northern, North-Western, Western, Southern and Luapula provinces.
President Hichilema said a schools training college would also be built in the area, including building infrastructure in Chipangali.
He charged that those in the Tonse Alliance were copycats who were simply copying what the UPND was doing.
President Hichilema said the Kwacha was now beating the United States dollar because of the reserves. He urged people not to listen to those from Tonse as there was nothing coming out from there.
At the same rally, Resolute Party (RP) president Martin Phiri, who recently changed allegiance from Tonse to support President Hichilema, described the Tonse presidential candidate and his running-mate Brian Mundubile and Makebi Zulu respectively, as “under-five.” He said he was endorsing President Hichilema for life.
“I endorse President HH for two terms,” said Phiri.
And President Hichilema told Chipangali residents that they appeared like people who were full from their homes, and like those who were well bathed.
