Citizens First (CF) leader Harry Kalaba says PF – referring to NRPUP, are the ones who forced the UPND on Zambians, which he said had brought so much suffering on the country.
And Kalaba today bought uniform shirts for bus drivers during his roadshow in Luanshya.
During a radio programme on Chimwemwe Radio in Ndola this morning, Kalaba was asked by a caller to the programme, Oscar to explain why he could not advise the president when things were going wrong in the country during the time he served as Foreign Affairs minister.
In response, Kalaba said that was the more reason why he resigned from his ministerial position.
He said he only stayed on as minister for one year following the 2016 general elections that ushered late former president Edgar Lungu into his five year term of office.
Kalaba said he resigned because he could not agree with the mannerisms that started to emerge where ministers started giving public contacts to each other.
“And today the same people say they want to come back,” Kalaba said. “I resigned from PF when I saw that abanensu nabakwata iminwe iyi tali (long fingers). But we want the same people to come back because they have changed jackets. Uwakalema taleka (The one with bad manners never changes).”
He said there was a reason why Zambians voted the PF out.
“They are the ones who forced us to have UPND which has brought so much suffering because of the economic quagmire the country is in,” Kalaba said. “In five years they have showed only medas. If they win the next time they will be giving you fertilizer in cups and not medas. Even loadshedding will come back.”
He said UNIP and MMD were voted out and never came back, therefore PF through Tonse should not come back.
“I have never seen a government that has failed like UPND,” Kalaba said. “Imisango ba UPND bakwata iyabola efyo naba PF bakwete imisango iyabola (In the same manner UPND’s ways are rotten so was PF).”
He said Ndola had changed from the industrial hub it used to be, and another five years of UPND would be another five years of delaying the city to return to its prestigious past.
Kalaba said what would bring back life to Ndola was industrialisation, saying polishing industries needed to be established for instance to harness the emerald resource in the city.
He said value addition needed to be added to the fruits and manufacturing materials from the copper resource on the Copperbelt.
Kalaba said that could not be achieved with selfish leadership that focussed on itself.
“Abantu abakulu nemyefu balikwata (An old man who even has beards) is saying ‘salt sana’ when what people need to hear are solutions,” he said.
He said if elected he would increase rural hardship allowance by 100 percent for civil servants.
Kalaba said while it was commendable that President Hichilema had increased accomodation allowances for university students, civil servants also needed to be taken care of. He said he would increase their salaries by K3500 across the board.
And during his roadshow in Luanshya today, Kalaba bought uniform shirts for the bus drivers.
