HH MUST ACQUIT HIMSELF BY TELLING HARRIS HE’S NOT WEST PUPPET, NEITHER GAY ADVOCATE … despite president stating he doesn’t support gay rights

Economic Front (EF) leader Wynter Kabimba says the visit by United States of America Vice-President Kamala Harris provides President Hakainde Hichilema with a challenge to tell her to her face that he is not an advocate of homosexuality neither a puppet of the west.

But speaking at the Life Cathedral in Chingola, President Hichilema said: “We as a population, our party, we as individuals including myself, we do not support gay and lesbian rights … Bushe namumfwa bwino bwino (Have you heard me correctly)?”

Speaking with Daily Revelation, Kabimba said Vice-President Harris is known to be a liberal with strong advocacy for promoting homosexual ‘rights.’

He said this therefore provides President Hichilema with the opportunity to “acquit” himself in the eyes of the Zambian people in the same way his colleagues like Kenyan President William Ruto has done that they would not accept or promote practices that are alien as that is tantamount to cultural colonialism.

He said Vice-President Harris will probably be the highest member of the Joe Biden administration to ever visit the country, and there will therefore be no opportunity for President Hichilema to tell a world power to their eyes, with the eyes of the watching Zambians fixed on him, that he is not a gay advocate nor a puppet of the west

“If he shies away from clearing all these allegations that have been preferred against him then he will have confirmed to Zambians that he’s a strong advocate of gay rights and he’s nothing but a puppet of imperialists. So he has a challenge that is giving him a window to acquit himself,” Kabimba said.

He said the US has developed a lot of interest in the administration of President Hichilema, saying Vice-President Harris is coming at a time when there are flashpoints of various discourse going on in the country with gays having for the first time in history marched in Lusaka. However, police arrested the organisers of the march past.

Kabimba said it was important that the President should make it clear that Harris was not coming here to reinforce any support for homosexual ‘rights.’

He also said President Hichilema should make it clear that he is not being used as a pawn to promote the anti-China agenda, and that Harris herself should make it clear that all the countries in the world need to co-exist, in the same manner her country engages with China in trade and other areas despite their differences elsewhere.
