I’m in celebratory mood, says Katanekwa’s complainant

I told you Timothy Katanekwa was not going to survive, says Lusaka businessman Misheck Chatora, one of the six complainants against the dismissed High Court judge.

President Hakainde Hichilema today dismissed Katanekwa having earlier suspended him following six complaints filed before the Judicial Complaints Commission (JCC) over delayed judgments, some which are said to have been pending for more than 20 years.

Late president Michael Sata also suspended Katanekwa in 2013 but was reinstated to office in 2015. His suspension by President Hichilema was the second he was facing from a sitting president.

“I told you that there was no way he was going to survive. I am in celebratory mood as we speak,” said Chatora to Daily Revelation Newspaper. “I will talk more later.”
