Police have arrested ZANACO KK Branch manager and tailor for the theft of over K300,000.

Police sources told Daily Revelation that the branch manager Banji Nalishuwa and tailor Kennedy Kaputula were arrested last Friday afternoon and were detained at the Kenneth Kaunda International Airport (KKIA) police station, until[pp-logged-users] Monday when they were released on police bond.

On the day the duo were arrested, police also confiscated a TIPA track from Nalishuwa’s house in Lusaka’s 15 miles.

“The information we have is that they would get that money and lend it to people and return it later, as they claimed. But customers were noticing that monies were going missing in their accounts and some cheques were bouncing. Information is that Nalishuwa even attempted to resign at one point last year but he was not granted his wish, not knowing that he was being investigated,” sources said. “And it so happened that last Friday, auditors arrived at the bank and instructed that no one should go in and out. A short while later they called in the Police Intelligence and the CID to pick the two up. From there, police went to his house in 16 Miles and confiscated a TIPA truck and a search was also conducted at his house in PHI.”

Sources said after the search, the duo were taken to KKIA police station where they were warned and cautioned and formally arrested for the theft of over K300,000.

They were released on bond last Monday and will appear in court soon.
