INVITING PUBLIC TO SUBSCRIBE TO MONEY CIRCULATION SCHEME IS OFFENCE – BOZ

The Bank of Zambia says each claimant in Destiny Helpers International shall be paid 8.2% of their investment from the K17,877,245.00 claimed by 4,893 claims.

The Bank stated that it has completed the process of consolidating claims for investors in (DHI) with payments commencing June 01, 2023.

“Destiny Helpers International (DHI) and payments shall commence on June 1, 2023 via mobile money. The total claim amount is K17,877,245.00 from 4,893 claimants. In line with the Court order of August 10, 2022, the Bank shall pay from seized funds held by DHI, amounting to K1,100,952.05 and US$19,037.74. The distribution shall be done in a proportional manner and, therefore, each claimant is expected to be paid approximately 8.2% of their investment,” stated BoZ. “The Bank reiterates that conducting, participating or inviting the public to subscribe to a money circulation scheme is a convictable offence. Further, investors in such schemes stand to lose all or a significant amount of their investment.”
