JEAN KAPATA NEEDS ALANGIZI, SAYS KABWITA

By Isaac Zulu

Charles Kabwita says former Lands minister Jean Kapata needs Alangazi, the traditional counselors for insulting Chishimba Kambwili and Kelvin Mwaba.

And Kabwita says he is saddened that President Hakainde Hichilema is making decisions to rescind recalls of diplomats and appointments in government on tribal and ethnic lines.

Speaking with Daily Revelation, Kabwita, the NDC faction Secretary General, said marriage counselors should take note and help counsel the PF central committee member.

“By insulting a person like Ba Chishimba Kambwili, Bamayo Ba Jean is insulting all the men in Zambia. If Bamayo Ba Jean Kapata insults a young man like me, she will be insulting the young people in the country,” said Kabwita. “As things stand, ba Jean Kapata needs some counselling. And I would suggest that some women that are involved marriage counseling take it upon themselves to offer some counselling to Madam Jean Kapata. By engaging in insulting language, Honourable Jean Kapata is not only disgracing herself, but the Patriot Front general membership. And I don’t think that former President Edgar Lungu would want to leave such a legacy among his immediate past ministers. Bamayo Ba Jean Kapata should know that they have a mammoth task of rebranding the Patriot Front, if they are remain relevant in the political sphere. That is if they will manage to rebrand and remain relevant in politics as a former ruling party.”

He said, being a seasoned politician, Kapata should channel her energy towards rebranding the PF , as opposed to “insulting her fellow politicians.”

“The insults that Ba Jean Kapata has poured out on Honourable Chishimba Kambwili cannot go without comment. I am told she has apologised, but I still feel that Bamayo Ba Jean should learn to accord her fellow politicians some respect. At this time when the Patriot Front members are talking about rebranding the party, I expect Ba Jean Kapata to be offering some political consultancy to the Patriot Front membership, instead of using vulgar language against the people that she interacts with in the political arena.”

And President HHichilema has been rescinding diplomatic recalls based on regionalism and tribalism.

He was commenting on government’s decision to rescind the recalling of some diplomats that include the Litunga’s son Brian Imwiko, former vice-president Inonge Wina’s son in-law, deputy Ambassador to Russia Imasiku Imakando Press Secretary to Ethiopia Inutu Mupango, as among people whose rescissions have been made on ethnicity.

“We have noticed the trend by President Hakainde Hichilema to appoint individuals to serve in the UPND government based on tribalism, nepotism and regionalism. The latest case in point is the decision to rescind the recalling of some diplomats where President Hakainde Hichilema has made some abrupt decision to recall Friday Nyambe who was serving as Ambassador in DRC and promote him as chief intelligence,” Kabwita said. “The other person who was recalled is the son to the Litunga and the cousin to the Litunga Imasiku Imakando; but what we have come to learn now is that these individuals will remain in the diplomatic service. Senior government positions have been given to people that hail from North Western, Southern and Western Provinces. These are tribal appointments.”
