Economic Front (EF) leader Wynter Kabimba says Inspector General of Police Lemmy Kajoba should not make the mistake of thinking that he is bluffing over his demand for the police boss to tell Zambians how far he has gone over the alleged DEC director general Mary Chirwa videos.
In the letter seen by Daily Revelation, Kabimba recently wrote to Kajoba asking him to tell Zambians whether the lady in the videos and images is Chirwa.
He said he is not bluffing over the demand, saying even UPND secretary general Batuke Imenda thought he was joking when he asked him to exculpate himself for using the Zambia Air Force (ZAF) chopper to Kasama.
“He (Kajoba) should not think I’m bluffing. I am serious. Even Imenda thought I was bluffing. I am serious. He has to tell the nation that he has undertaken his responsibilities otherwise the court will force him to,” said Kabimba.
In the letter, Kabimba demanded for Kajoba to update the nation on the investigations the police said they had launched regarding the videos where Chirwa’s look-alike was seen fondling with her genitals and sucking a banana.
“Re: Investigations into the alleged Mary Chirwa Pornographic Pictures. Wherever to the above matter and the investigations which you said were being undertaken by the Police regarding the same. You will appreciate that the pictures which circulated on social media platforms constituted a criminal offence under our laws. In this regard and the interest of the public, we as Economic Front hereby raise the following questions for your attention: (i) The identity of the person or persons who took those pictures and / or posted them on social media? (ii) The actual identity of the person in those pictures? (iii) If your investigations have established evidence to the two questions above, whether or not you have taken statements from the persons involved. (iv) If the investigations are still underway, when you hope to conclude the same and inform the public accordingly,” stated Kabimba. “I wish to inform you that unless we hear from you within 7 days from the date hereof, we shall have no option but to commence judicial review proceedings in the High Court to seek an appropriate order in this matter.”
