Hakainde Hichilema must tell Zambians if it is God that guided him to lead the country through “four years” of massive loadshedding, says Citizens First (CF) leader Harry Kalaba.
And Kalaba said he saw the face of poverty during the roadshow he conducted in Lusaka today, saying people need change through the Citizens First as their manifesto places the interests of citizens first.
Commenting on President Hichilema’s remarks today that God guided him through everything he does, Kalaba wondered how God could have allowed President Hichilema to lead Zambians through the worst loadshedding the country has ever experienced.
“So it’s the guidance of God that made us to go through four years of loadshedding? He must be clear in what he says,” Kalaba said.
Kalaba said he saw the youths and marketeers that are struggling during today’s roadshow.
“I saw the face of poverty and now is the time to turn the chapter to allow people to be in charge of their destiny,” he said.
He said the name of his organisation spoke for itself, as theirs was to place the interests of citizens first, saying Zambians have seen mines being given to foreigners.
Kalaba said Zambians must also have a share in the country’s abundant mining resource.
“It’s about Zambians being given opportunity to own mines. We are finding new gold mines but Zambians are not being given the opportunity and government is not deliberate about it,” said Kalaba.
Put to him that there were millions of Zambians who did not support him nor had warmed up to him, and were supporting his other major competitors, Kalaba urged citizens to pay interest to what they all stood for and what they had defended.
He said some may critique him without understanding what he stood for.
