Collins Mbesuma’s footballer sons, midfielder Morientes and striker Linecker Mbesuma have said that they are looking forward to their debut campaign in the FAZ Super League next season with promoted Roan United.

Roan will be making its first return to the FAZ Super League since 2014 after securing promotion from the FAZ National Division 1 last term where they spent just one season.

Morientes and Linecker were part of Roan’s successful 2025/2026 campaign in the FAZ National Division 1.

Roan confirmed in their media updates on Monday that Morientes and Linecker had been allocated jersey numbers 22 and 38, respectively.

“I’m so grateful for your support. We will continue to be the best versions of ourselves, and all we ask for is your blessings as we fight for the club,” Morientes Mbesuma said.

It will be the first time the Mbesuma name will grace the Zambian top flight since their father left Roan for Kaizer Chiefs in 2005.

“Keep supporting us and come out in numbers for the new season. Your presence makes all the difference,” Linecker Mbesuma said.

Meanwhile, Roan will be the only familiar name of the four promoted teams’ campaign in the 2026/2027 FAZ Super League season.

The other three are all newcomers, led by Lusaka side Makeni All Stars, who finished top on 66 points; Chirundu United who were runners-up with 65 points; and third-place finishers Trident FC from Kalumbila in North Western Province who wrapped up their successful promotion race on 64 points.

Roan finished the promotion race on 58 points after 34 games played.
