MY SONS HAVE COVID-19, AND I’M ALSO STRUGGLING TO BREATH, SAYS MUMBI PHIRI

By Patson Chilemba

Former PF deputy secretary general Mumbi Phiri says her two sons, the first and last born have symptomatic Covid-19, and that she herself is struggling massively with shortness of breath, saying “I hope I will be alive the next time you call.”

Phiri told Daily Revelation that her two children were found with Covid-19 and that they are currently isolating from her home, having been told to do so when they tested positive at the health center.

Phiri, who sounded sick herself and struggling to be audible enough, said she was struggling with shortness of breath, but that she had not yet gotten a Covid-19 test, saying “I hope I will be alive next time you call.”

“My sons, the first born aged 29 and the last born aged 22 are at my house right now where they are self isolating. The first born is actually married but I had to get him so that he can recover from here at my house,” Phiri said.

But when asked why her children were told to recover from home despite being symptomatic, Phiri said she too did not have an answer to that.

“Even I, I am suffering from shortness of breath and can only feel comfortable speaking if I stand. And I am diabetic, I hope the next time you call I will be the one taking your call,” said Phiri.
