Don’t be cheated by those two crooks, President Hakainde Hichilema charged yesterday when referring to NRPUP presidential candidate Brian Mundubile and his running-mate Makebi Zulu.
Addressing a public rally in Chisamba yesterday, President Hichilema said he did not want anybody to be cheated by people moving around with promises which they failed to fulfil when they were in government.
He said the “two boys” went to Chisamba and lied that they had a better plan for the small scale gold miners, but wondered why they did not implement their plans when they were in power for 10 years, while serving as ministers in five of those 10 years.
He said the government wanted miners to mine safely and legally but did not want them to use mercury to mine the gold as that was not safe for the environment.
“Don’t be cheated by those crooks. Those boys are just crooks we know them,” he said.
He said everywhere Zambians had made a decision
“There is nothing like a stronghold for the opposition. All the provinces are HH’s strongholds,” he said.
He said Zambians must remember where they were coming from, where they were being beaten by the cadres in the PF administration.
He said there was trouble and blood in the markets but not anymore.
“Let me see the hands of people who want to be beaten in the markets?” he asked.
He said the same people were using cadres to terrorise people in markets.
President Hichilema said “those two boys” who were in PF were both ministers, saying they left PF after creating problems and formed an alliance and came to Zambians claiming they were different people.
“They are the same people. Ingw’ena ni ngw’ena (a crocodile is a crocodile). Pompwe ni pompwe (a thief is a thief),” he said. “So let me go back to those boys who want to come back into government, everything we are doing they are copying. So who is better the one who copies or the one who plans?”
He wondered why they did not introduce free education in 10 years, while they let the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) to remain at K1.6 million, until he increased it massively.
He said now that they saw him succeeding they were also claiming they wanted to do the same.
He said they would not be allowed to eat the reserves.
President Hichilema said farmers would be paid within two to three days after delivering their produce as he did not want people to suffer sleeping at the banks.
He said he did not want farmers to share fertilizer in medas, and therefore the government would increase FISP beneficiaries.
He said his was the only administration that has provided an ambulance, a CDF vehicle and also a police vehicle in each constituency.
He said he would build a district hospital in Chisamba, and build the Chipembi and Mwapula road.
He said for the nurses who were volunteering he had instructed that from next month the government would start processing their employment.
He said he used to sleep in faeces after they incarcerated him when they were in power.
“We buried them in 2021, let them remain in the graveyard there,” said President Hichilema.
