Resident Doctors Association of Zambia president Dr Brian Sampa says he hopes this time around there will be no changes to the government’s stated position to announce the names of successful applicants for enrollment as teachers and health workers.
Speaking with Daily Revelation, Dr Sampa welcomed the government’s announcement that the promised 30,000 teachers and 11,200 health workers earmarked for employment will be announced this very month.
“That one is a welcome move, and for us we are hoping that this time around there will be no changes. So since they have already announced that on 15th (of July 2022) for the teachers the names will be out and then on 22nd for the health care workers that is a very good move and we look forward to seeing that it comes to fruition,” said Dr Sampa. “You know there has been a lot of changes and it’s been very disappointing. However, we have kept our hopes high seeing that this process was already started and now that they have said they are going to announce and it’s written, we are hoping that this time around it is going to happen. We have hope that maybe this time around it will happen unless otherwise. If it doesn’t happen then that will be very disappointing.”
