ZAMBIANS MUST SACRIFICE, URGES NKOMBO

Zambians must sacrifice as there will be sunshine after the rains, says Local Government minister Garry Nkombo.

Debating the ministerial statement delivered by minister of Finance Dr Situmbeko Musokotwane, Nkombo, who was speaking mostly to an empty opposition side, having claimed that he actually heard the opposition members of parliament say “tatwaise (we won’t come back in the house)”, said there will be a small dip as the country engages the International Monetary Fund (IMF), to right the insurmountable debt the PF government had brought upon the country.

“The point is let them stay out if they want and never come back…until everything has been resolved,” Nkombo said, adding that they did a lot of damage to this country.

Lands minister Muchima described “the PF people as people who had no mercy”, and that they were cruel and had no human face.

He said even going to the Ministry of Lands on how the PF handled matters was a shameful site, as land was just being shared among cadres and their leaders, including Forest 27 which was under investigation, and Forest 42.

But one of the PF members of parliament, who were outside as the debate was ongoing in the house, said they would get back into the house when they start debating individual heads of ministries.

When contacted for comment, opposition whip Stephen Kampyongo said he was in Northern Province where several judgements have been passed on several petitions, with his own coming up tomorrow.

He said most opposition parliamentarians are not in parliament as they are attending to court cases around the country, where their seats have been petitioned
