HH MUST GO – NAWAKWI … he’s worst president we’ve had

By Daily Revelation Reporter

President Hakainde Hichilema did not deserve the mantle to become President of Zambia, he’s the worst president the country has had in five decades and therefore the need for early elections to remove him from office, says opposition FDD leader Edith Nawakwi.

Nawakwi said the suffering Zambians are going through will kill many in the country with President Hichilema remaining in office, saying people were now grinding maize seed to eat as they were now desperately hungry.

“Some of us knew even before getting into office that he doesn’t have the acumen in statecraft. They ask him where he is in America, how have you managed to move on from where you started? He goes back to Kuomboka Ceremony on how he was arrested. He was in USA at an international platform where you need to explain your plan for people to buy into,” Nawakwi said to Daily Revelation Media. “He is the same man a few weeks ago who said I built Kazungula Bridge. You wonder if it’s a state of intellectual confusion or simply inability to understand facts.”

Nawakwi charged that President Hichilema has messed up a lot of things in the country, including the health sector, saying the World Bank had agreed with the former PF administration to fund health sector salaries to bring them to parity with those obtaining in the region to avoid brain drain.

“This brother comes in and since there is a lot of money he goes on recruitment rampage but they tell him that we agreed to fund the salaries but not these thousands of recruitments therefore you have to pay them yourself,” Nawakwi said. “He’s so uninspiring that when he speaks you want to switch off the TV. He’s not a leader. He has no acumen, no campus. He has no direction… But ba Hakainde bamasekesa. He says I have finished load-shedding. But has load-shedding finished? Managing a country is about advice. When we say early elections, look at the fact that people are desperate for food.”

She said those in the livestock sector were for the first time being told that they could not access maize from FRA and that it was being sold to the millers instead at K4, who were in turn selling it to those in the livestock sector at K5.

“How can you say you are exporting maize to Tanzania and my chickens can’t eat? He said you were going to get part payment through NAPSA, are you getting that money? So for me this is a person without direction. He didn’t deserve to be given the mantle to become president,” Nawakwi said. “He is the worst President this country has seen for five decades.”

But asked if she was ready to take over the presidency to take over in the event of an unlikely election given that there wasn’t even a scent that she and her party were prepared for electioneering, Nawakwi claimed that Zambians would choose her ahead of President Hichilema in the event they were asked to choose between the two.

“They will say tulefwaya ba mayo. Zambia needs the caring arms of a mother. He keeps on pointing to Lungu ninshi kamwendo kao kanagwiliwa mumupako. I have never seen so many contradictions and lies come from a human being,” said Nawakwi. “He’s not motivating. He is just motivating the whole country into depression.”

‘President Hakainde Hichilema did not deserve the mantle to become President of Zambia.’ Edith Nawakwi, please get into your head. In a democracy, it is THE PEOPLE who choose leaders. Elections are not classroom examinations. There is no deserving needed. You sell your intentions and if the majority are pleased with you, they vote you in and you become President. You have FIVE SOLID years to deliver what you promised. After that term is over, the people will again decide whether you should continue or not. You can only call for the President to go if:
    1. He is diagnosed by competent doctors to be mentally ill.
    2. He has flouted the constitution
    3. He is judged by medical practitioners to be too ill to do his work.
    4. He came into power undemocratically.

Sadly for you madam, lying to people is not illegal and it is not a reason for a President to step down. You may be worried that you will be too old in 2026 and may not make it as a candidate, tough. You cannot force an abdication just so that you have an early chance. Wait your turn. You can sell your ideas for 2026 and the good people of Zambia will consider them at that time. Keep ‘repeating Grade 12’ for now. HH repeated many times before he could pass.
