Chama-South member of Parliament Davison Mung’andu says individuals who can’t survive without former president Edgar Lungu are going to him and telling him that he must come back to lead PF
Speaking with Daily Revelation, Mung’andu said those going to presidentLungu to tell him to come back don’t love him.
“They do not love him. Maybe they love the benefits that they derive by associating with him. I would urge them to start loving the former head of state. Let them live the former head of state and also let them love the family for the former head of state,” Mung’andu said. “If anything I would urge them to move on. Clearly these are individuals who can’t survive without president Lungu. So we want to urge them to find life beside president Lungu. Let the man enjoy his retirement at the moment. That would be my comment. Let them start loving president Lungu like the way we do.”
Mung’andu said “those are going there to tell him to say he should start being politically active, president Lungu, what we know himself said he is not interested. Nowonder he had relinquished that position.”
“But we know there are those that are going there imagining that that can’t live without president Lungu. We are telling them to live president Lungu the way we do, by leaving the man alone,” he said.
Some in PF have asserted that Lungu’s association with politics is the reason those in government are going after him and his family, Mung’andu said he did not agree with that line of thought, saying if Lungu wanted to come back he has his own rights and no one one can stop him.
“Only Zambian people can stop him through a ballot, just the way they had stopped him from continuing being a president. Not the ruling party, they cannot do that,” said Mung’andu, saying in this country whoever tries to use whatever machinations to stop another, that could not work as there were systems that are well respected. “For me I do not feel that is the reason. If it is it will show. It will show. That’s the reason why we have said those who love president Lungu let them leave him alone. If that being the case. If people are thinking like that the best way is to make the former head of state enjoy his retirement.”
