Government says it will ensure that the business environment on the Copperbelt Province is conducive for the Chinese nationals to operate on for stronger ties with that country.
And government says it is impressed with Rongxing Mining Limited Company’s $2.2million contribution in taxes and the production of 1 million tones of Copper Ore as well as 5000 tonnes of Copper Cathodes’ in the year 2024.
In a statement yesterday, it was stated that the company had also created more than 300 jobs for the locals in Chambishi district.
Copperbelt Province minister Elisha Matambo commended Rongxing Mining Limited a Chinese Company in Chambish District on the Copperbelt Province for contributing significantly to the countries development through job creation and Community Social Responsibility (CSPR).
“We will ensure the business community is conducive, for it is the President’s vision to see Zambia and China’s Diplomatic Relations was stronger.
Government is impressed with the company’s $2.2 million contribution in taxes and the production of 1 million tones of Copper Ore as well as 5000 tonnes of Copper Cathodes’ in the year 2024,” he stated
Matambo stated that despite the country going through a reduction in electricity caused by a drought, the company worked hard and managed to contribute to the economy.
“The company created about 400 local jobs and has implemented procurement policies that are favourable to the Zambian suppliers. Rongxing Mining Limited has locally sourced its major commodities such as raw Ore, Sulfuric Acid and Diesel within the country thereby, promoting the Zambian Market,” he stated.
“Despite the company’s contribution in the mining sector, Rongxing Mining Limited has been motivating and recognising its employees.”
