In what many view as an orchestrated move to diminish opposition numbers in Parliament in order to aid the ruling UPND, Miles Sampa’s faction, today expelled nine PF members of Parliament for ‘failure to exculpate themselves for attending an illegal meeting unknown to the party.’
Those expelled are Chilubi Member of Parliament Mulenga Fube, Kamfinsa member of Parliament Christopher Kangombe, Mporokoso member of Parliament Brian Mundubile, Chitambo member of Parliament Remember Mutale, Shiwangandu member of Parliament Steven Kampyongo and Lupososhi member of Parliament Musonda Mpankata.
Others are Lunte member of Parliament Mutotwe Kafwaya, Kawambwa member of Parliament Nickson Chilangwa and Ronald Chitotela of Mpambashe.
In a letter dated December 6, 2023 addressed to all the affected and copied to Sampa, Robert Chabinga and Anthony Mumba, secretary general Morgan Ngo’na stated that today is the fourth day and the party has not received any communication from them on the matter.
Ngo’na stated that individual and collective discipline is paramount and at the core of party values.
He stated that their behavior abrogated the party Constitution.
“Considering the gravity of the offences committed and your lack of being remorseful, we have no option but to expel you from the party with immediate effect,” read the letter in party.
“You are further directed to surrender all party properties and documents that are in your possession and cease hence forth to participate in all PF programs.”
