NHIMA suspends accreditation to private health providers

The National Health Insurance Management Authority (NHIMA) has with immediate suspended accreditation for private health care providers who may wish to apply under the scheme.

In a press release, NHIMA, however, clarified that this will not affect the private health care providers that are already providing NHIMA services to the public of the facilities whose applications are at the contracting stage.

NHIMA head of public relations King Syacika stated that the authority will notify the public once the suspension has been lifted and a call for applications would be made public in line with required services and geographic regions that will be required after a needs assessment.
