THOSE IN PF SHOULD NOT COMPLAIN BEING TARGETED OVER CORRUPTION FIGHT, OBSERVES KALABA

Opposition Democratic Party (DP) leader Harry Kalaba says he is wondering why those PF are complaining that the fight against corruption is being targeted against them when they were the ones in government.

Speaking with Daily Revelation, Kalaba expressed surprise with the complaints coming from those who served in the PF administration.

“No but that argument of saying that it’s targeted against ba PF, they are the ones who were in government. They want it to be targeted towards who? They were the ones in the government,” Kalaba said.

However, Kalaba said the fight against corruption should be genuine, otherwise the UPND risked wasting five years of their time in power fighting political gymnastics.

He said the fight should not be selective and political.

“You cannot use governance to settle political scores, that will be a mockery to the whole governance structure. If someone is guilty let them be followed. Let the law follow them. But it should not always be politics at play. And that is what we have always said as a party. We have said first of all we should not politicise the fight against corruption,” Kalaba said. “It should be a genuine fight if we are to make progress as a country, otherwise the UPND risks wasting five years fighting political gymnastics and nothing will come out of it. And if it is genuine so that somebody has done wrong and it’s against the law, let the law visit them.”
