DON’T ALLOW CIVILIANS TO WEAR MILITARY UNIFORMS, SAYS HH

President Hakainde Hichilema has directed men in uniform not to allow civilians wear military uniforms.

And President Hichilema said has congratulated Anthony Bwalya over his appointment as special assistant to the President for press and public relations, saying it does not matter where one was born or what their sir name is.

During the swearing-in ceremony for the new service chiefs and Bwalya at State House, President Hichilema said the culture by civilians putting on military regalia must come to an end, as citizens mistake party thugs who beat up people with those in the military.

The President said he expected a new way of working from the police, in order to earn the respect of the public, saying bail must be granted to those whose offenses are bailable.

“We want to mormalise life in this country. It has been abnormal for too long,” he said.

He urged the men in uniform to do their very best to save the people of Zambia, saying he thanked the exiting service men for the job well done, saying they kept the county well especially during a volatile time before the announcement of the election results.

“We must support them in their new roles,” said President Hicheilma.
